Facilities and Grounds Maintenance Person

Job Summary

Camp 4 Paws is seeking a dedicated Facilities and Grounds Maintenance Person to ensure the upkeep, safety, and aesthetic appeal of our property. This role involves performing a variety of maintenance tasks related to general facility repairs and improvements, landscaping, grounds keeping, and snow removal. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, electrical and plumbing repairs, HVAC maintenance and repair, horticulture, landscape maintenance, and the use of various tools and equipment to maintain a clean, safe, and attractive environment. Looking for a motivated and reliable person that is also comfortable working around dogs.

Duties

• Perform regular maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and equipment, ensuring the property remains clean, safe, and functional at all times.
• Inspect and maintain fences, gates, kennels, and other structures.
• Conduct landscaping maintenance including mowing, edging, trimming, planting, and shrub care to ensure a clean professional appearance.
• Install and repair hardscape features such as walkways, patios, and retaining walls.
• Handle snow removal and other seasonal maintenance tasks.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment for maintenance, repairs, construction, and landscaping projects.
• Support construction projects or site improvements as needed using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all tools, supplies, and equipment. Perform maintenance and repair of all tools and equipment to keep them working properly.

Requirements

• Prior experience in a maintenance role for facilities and grounds preferred.
• Mechanical knowledge related to the operation of power tools, hand tools, and other landscaping equipment.
• Experience with landscape maintenance, lawn care, gardening, or related fields.
• Knowledge of horticulture principles and landscape design is preferred.
• Familiarity with hardscape maintenance and installation.
• Strong physical stamina for outdoor work in various weather conditions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail and safety protocols. Ability to identify issues and find practical solutions.
• Ability to have clear verbal and written communication with managers and coworkers.
• Time management - organizing tasks efficiently to meet deadlines.
• Adaptability - flexibility to handle changing priorities and work in different environments.
• Attention to detail - thoroughness in completing tasks correctly and noticing potential problems.
• Self-motivation - ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Education

• Minimum of a high school education with at least some college or technical training preferred.
