What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse Night Shift position at Cameron Regional Medical Center, Inc?
Reports To: House Supervisor, Intensive Care Unit Manager, and/or Nursing Administration
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
· Registered Nurse with a current Missouri license
· BLS, ACLS
· NIH Stroke Certification required (renew yearly)
· STARR certification within first year
· Basic Arrhythmia course and competency yearly
· Skills, EMTALA, and compliance training yearly
Requirements:
· 12 hour shifts
· Weekend obligation
· Holiday obligation
Brief Summary/Working Conditions
· Provide professional nursing care for assigned patients according to established nursing standards and practices.
· This position has prolonged standing and walking
· You will be exposed to all patient elements
· Subjected to stress, frustration, and fatigue
· Requires lifting and turning of patients
· Requires lifting and moving supplies and equipment
· Repeated bending, squatting, and stooping is to be expected
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Provides professional nursing care through assessment and accurate documentation, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation for the comfort and well-being of patients.
· Comply with established nursing standards. Implement and maintain established hospital and nursing policies, procedure, quality performance, safety, infection control, and other regulatory requirements. Interpret these to subordinate personnel, patients, and visitors as appropriate
· Coordinates care delivery and education through collaboration with patient, family and all health care team providers to ensure safe, effective and quality patient care
· Assist if orientation, instructional training, and supervision of subordinate personnel.
· Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information
· Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment.
· Report defective equipment to supervisor or Patient Care Manager and request repair
· Take corrective action when violations in policies and procedures occur
· Assist providers with any bedside procedures/cares as needed
· Inform department manager of supply needs for the department
· Maintain equipment in clean and in good working order
o Check with Department Manager for department specific list of duties
· Answer telephone, deliver messages, and perform other clerical duties as required
· Depending on census and volume of patients may be required to float to other units
· Attend required meetings/in-services
· Communicate with House Supervisor and/or ancillary services as needed.
· Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed/required by the Director of Nursing
· Maintain courteous communications and project a positive and helpful attitude toward patients, visitors, the public, medical/consulting staff and fellow hospital employees.
Pay: $33.00 - $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 36 per week
