Behavioral Health Technicians
At Camelback Kids, we rely on our Behavioral Health Technician to compassionately and competently support our school and home-based treatment programs for clients and their families. We’re seeking experienced healthcare professionals who can serve as a direct line of support to our licensed counselors and therapists in various scenarios and treatment settings. The ideal candidate will join a network of trained professionals, and clinical counselors dedicated to our mission of helping individuals with behavioral disorders achieve a lifestyle of meaning and wellness.
Behavioral Health Technician Minimum Requirements:
- At least 21 years of age
- Possess a valid Arizona driver's license
- Have a minimum of one year’s experience in an adolescent Treatment Center
- Have at a minimum a high school diploma or GED
- Have a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Department of Public Safety
- Possess an operational vehicle
- Possess basic computer skills
- Be First Aid and CPR certified
Behavioral Health Technician Job Description:
The Behavioral Health Technician's primary responsibility is to provide support and care for the children living in the centers and to maintain a safe environment. The Behavioral Health Technician assists the children by directing interactions, including but not limited to behavioral management, and by facilitating therapeutic recreational and social life skills. Additional Responsibilities, include, but are not limited to:
- Complete ongoing training, including CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Prevention Institute's continuing education.
- Participate in team meetings and agency-wide trainings.
- Assist with client admission and discharge.
- Follow an assigned schedule for daily activities.
- Oversee clients’ completion of daily living tasks.
- Follow and adhere to house rules, norms, expectations and schedules to provide consistency.
- Monitor self-administered medications (according to policy and procedure).
- Complete daily progress notes and documentation.
- Safely and appropriately utilize nonviolent intervention de-escalating techniques when necessary.
