Behavioral health technician (BHT)

Duties

• Assist with intake assessments and develop individualized care plans tailored to each client’s needs
• Knowledge of mental health care practices including PTSD care, addiction counseling, crisis intervention, and de-escalation techniques
• Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, EMR/EHR systems, and HIPAA confidentiality standards
• Support clients with daily activities, including medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and personal hygiene
• Implement behavior intervention strategies such as applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques to promote positive behaviors
• Engage clients in therapeutic activities focused on social skills, autism spectrum disorders support, and behavior management
• Conduct crisis management and crisis intervention to de-escalate challenging situations effectively and safely
• Collect data on client progress, maintain accurate medical documentation, and update electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Support clients with neurodevelopmental disorders and disabilities through specialized interventions and client communication

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience in a behavioral health or related setting is highly desirable.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with clients and their families.
• Basic knowledge of mental health diagnoses and treatment modalities.- Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.

Pay: $24.39 - $29.38 per hour
