Duties
- Conduct thorough mental health and behavioral assessments using standardized tools and clinical judgment
- Deliver individual, group, and family counseling utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and applied behavior analysis
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to support clients experiencing acute mental health or behavioral emergencies
- Develop personalized care plans aligned with client needs, goals, and clinical documentation standards
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, including medical professionals, educators, and community agencies
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality policies
- Collect data for clinical research projects related to mental health interventions, addiction counseling, or developmental disabilities
Requirements
- Valid licensure as a Graduate Social Worker (e.g., LGSW or equivalent) with eligibility for full licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or similar credential within the required timeframe
- Experience working with children, adolescents, or adults in mental health or behavioral health settings
- Proficiency in psychotherapy modalities such as motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and behavioral therapy
- Knowledge of medical terminology, psychiatric patient care standards, and clinical documentation protocols
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems, HIPAA regulations, and medical records management
- Strong skills in crisis management, patient assessment, case management, and client communication
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and those with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder
- Experience in home & community care environments is preferred; hospital experience is a plus
- Additional expertise in addiction counseling, PTSD care, geriatrics or Alzheimer's care is advantageous
