Position Description
Title: Assistant Summer Camp Director
Department: Special Programs Supervisor: Summer Camp Director
Status: Seasonal/Hourly/Non-Exempt
Pay: $16.67 - $17.69
Education: High School Diploma required; College degree preferred; Preferably two or more years of experience in Childhood and Youth Development
Position Summary: This position is responsible for assisting with the successful coordination of the Camden County PSA Summer Camp Program
Essential Responsibilities/Duties:
- Assist the Summer Camp Director with the efficient and effective day-to-day operations of the summer camp program
- Assist with daily activities, special events, and field trips
- Assist with the training, supervision, and evaluation of the seasonal staff of the Summer Camp Program, i.e., Lead Camp Counselors, and Camp Counselors
- Assist Summer Camp Director to ensure compliance with all safety standards, health regulations, and licensing requirements
- Assist Summer Camp Director to engage in risk management for all aspects of the summer camp program
- Assist the Summer Camp Director with camp budget, expenditures, and purchasing of supplies
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians and the community, including addressing concerns promptly
- Assist with marketing efforts to promote camp registration, including creating content for social media and brochures
- Assist with the management of inventories of equipment and supplies for summer camp
- Monitor the changing context within which the camp’s programs and services are provided
- Work collaboratively with camper families to build relationships and ensure high level support of campers

Working Environment: Typically works in an indoor environment; some work will be completed in an office while; other work will be in large open areas inside the facility; some work may be outside during summer conditions
Physical Requirements: Ability to work varying hours depending on summer camp scheduling requirements; Will be required to work in varying weather conditions, sun, heat, rain; Must be able to move around the camp, including walking, running, standing, and lifting equipment.
Salary : $17 - $18
