Georgia Lions Camp is seeking energetic, compassionate, and dependable individuals to join our Summer Camp Staff as Camp Counselors.
Georgia Lions Camp provides residential camp experiences for children, teens, and adults who are blind or visually impaired. Our programs focus on recreation, independence, confidence-building, friendship, and inclusion in a fun and supportive environment.
As a Camp Counselor, you will help create meaningful experiences while serving as a mentor, leader, and positive role model for campers throughout the summer.
Position Summary
Camp Counselors are responsible for supervising and supporting campers throughout all aspects of camp life, including activities, meals, cabin time, evening programs, and daily routines. Counselors help maintain a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment while encouraging camper independence, participation, and personal growth.
This is a residential summer camp position requiring staff to live on-site during training and camp sessions.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage campers throughout daily camp activities and routines
- Encourage camper participation, independence, and positive social interaction
- Assist with recreational activities, outdoor programs, sports, arts and crafts, and special events
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful camp environment
- Support campers with varying levels of independence and adaptive needs
- Work collaboratively with fellow counselors and camp leadership
- Follow all camp policies, procedures, and safety standards
QualificationsRequired
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced residential camp environment
- Ability to maintain professionalism and appropriate boundaries
- Ability to live on-site during camp operations
- Ability to complete required background screening and staff training
Preferred
- Experience in camps, recreation, education, caregiving, or disability services
- Experience working with individuals living with a visual impairment or disabilitie
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Leadership experience in team activities, student organizations, athletics, or recreation

Summer Schedule
- Staff Training: June 6 – 16, 2026
- Camp Sessions: June 17 – July 19, 2026
- Camp Cleanup: July 20 – 21, 2026
