What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Operations Manager 1 position at CAMC Health System?
Responsible for the administrative and technical management of specific areas of the CAMC labs.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for all required accreditation/inspection documentation for assigned area.
- Initiate appropriate corrective action and/or discipline as required by CAMC personnel policies and procedures.
- Provide orientation and appropriate competency documentation for all employees in assigned area.
- Prepare, monitor and justify operating budget for assigned area.
- Monitor various management reports as applicable for accuracy, develop data for maximization of revenue, and provide corrections/updates as necessary.
- Monitor TAT for optimum patient care and physician satisfaction.
- Prepare productivity, CAP, TSI and other management reports as requested/required by upper management.
- Provide for staff development by recommending seminars, arranging in-services and encouraging employee participation in projects related to corporate goals.
- Participate in various committee assignments, e.g., patient care, physician satisfaction.
- Maintain department, institution, and licensure (if applicable) required education; document appropriately.
- Responsible for integrating continuous, quality improvement into department and institution operations.
- Support and assist employee participation in the continuous, quality improvement processes.
- Reinforce employee understanding of work integration with other departments throughout the institution.

The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department’s identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.

Education
• Bachelor's Degree (Required) Education: Preferred Degree in Medical Technology or Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science; business/employment related courses are beneficial Experience: 4 Years generalist experience- one of which must have been in a supervisory capacity
