Duties
1. Compliance/adherence to established policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement program, infection control and safety standards.
2. Maintains clean food preparation, serving, and storing areas. Maintains clean kitchen appliances.
3. Maintains supplies of food, paper goods, linens, and other materials. Ensures that all needed supplies are readily available. Assists in storing stock items in proper storage areas.
4. Washes and properly stores all equipment used for meal preparation.
5. Serves food using proper portion control techniques.
6. Prepares meals per applicable approved diets and menus.
7. Removes all trash and disposes it in appropriate area as needed.
8. Delivers food cart to patient floor as needed. Returns cart to main kitchen at designated times.
9. Tends and loads dish machines; may be required to wash certain items by hand.
10. Cleans tables, chairs, and other surfaces in the cafeteria using checklist.
11. Maintains proper temperature for both hot and cold food. Monitors proper temperature for freezer, refrigerator, and dishwasher.
12. Maintains food preparation, serving and storage areas in a clean, neat, and orderly manner. Daily cleaning floors, storage areas and refrigerators and all kitchen appliances.
13. Must be able to follow written dietary orders; weigh, measure, and appropriately portion food.
14. Communicates with kitchen and nursing staff appropriately.
15. Communicates all complaints to supervisor for investigation.
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum Education: High School graduate or equivalent preferred; additional vocational or post High School culinary training preferred.
Minimum Experience: Prefer one-year experience in dietary.
Certification/Registration/Licensure: Current West Virginia Food Handler Certification

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
