Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive care to patients of all ages, focusing on health promotion, disease prevention, and management of acute and chronic illnesses. The FNP will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care in various settings, including outpatient clinics, urgent care facilities, and home care environments.
Duties
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments to determine health status.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical evaluations.
- Administer medications, including injections as necessary.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations and procedures such as suturing, incision and drain, and pelvic exams.
- Provide education and counseling to patients regarding health maintenance and disease prevention.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care across various settings including hospitals, nursing homes, and outpatient clinics.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Next Gen and Epic for efficient patient management.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner with an active state license.
- Experience in primary care, urgent care, or specialty areas such as pediatrics or geriatrics is preferred.
- Proficiency in performing procedures such as injections, specimen collection/processing.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and workers' compensation law is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations including children, seniors, and mental health setting.
