Description Of Service Opportunity
Cambridge Rindge and Latin (CRLS) consists of four learning communities that support the vision of the Cambridge Public Schools (CPS) to provide all students with rigorous, joyful, and culturally responsive learning as well as the social, emotional, and academic supports each student needs to achieve their goals and post secondary success as engaged community members.
With this in mind, CRLS provides a Summer Preview Program (MPP) for CPS students, who have chosen to take an Honors or Advanced Placement class next school year and have also been identified as part of a population that has historically experienced racial and/or economic marginalization.
The MPP program at CRLS focuses on ensuring that students are provided a comprehensive experience that includes:
Responsibilities
Coordinate the logistics and oversee the implementation of the CRLS Summer Preview Program (MPP).
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university. Experience teaching in an urban, multi-cultural school system with inclusionary practices.
The contract amount shall not exceed $2,400.00 at the Site Coordinator - Summer School rate of $40.00 per hour for up to 60 hours.

Please note that your hourly rate is dependent upon your collective bargaining agreement or individual hourly rate. If you are a non-exempt employee and have worked more than 40 hours a week, you will be paid time and a half for any hours worked over 40 hours

Responsibilities
Coordinate the logistics and oversee the implementation of the CRLS Summer Preview Program (MPP).
- Facilitate the creation of the program’s class schedule based teacher availability and offerings
- Coordinate the distribution and receipt of applications for program
- Schedule and facilitate meetings when needed regarding and during the MPP
- Work with the Mayor’s Program as well as CRLS regarding student and teacher payment, informing necessary
- Filter the list of the upcoming year’s Honors & Advanced Placement class students based on the MPP’s eligibility
- Create attendance sheets for each content area and ensure the accuracy of attendance taken
- Provide or coordinate technical assistance when needed for students, families, and educators
- Encourage and demonstrate growth mindset philosophy for students and educator
