What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Bus Route Drivers - $500 Hiring Incentive position at Cambridge-Isanti School District 911?
Qualifications/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required
Valid Minnesota license with clean driving record
Successful completion of DOT physical exam
Ability to pass a background check
Ability to pass a pre employment drug & alcohol screen
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Needed:
Successful candidates must be able to work split shift; have skills and aptitude to operate a bus safely; enjoy the presence of children; be reliable and punctual.
No experience required - paid training provided to obtain necessary license and endorsements. DOT Physical and drug testing are required.

Specific Tasks:
To safely and efficiently transport students to and from their school site and/or special events.
Most Drivers depart approximately 6:00 a.m. and return about 9:00 a.m. and depart again approximately 1:30 pm and return around 4:30 p.m. in the afternoon. See the job description for additional information.
Hours per day:
As per Bus Driver Agreement
Route Driver Hourly Rate starting at $27.50/hour with the expectation of driving morning and afternoon routes
$500 Hiring Incentive – Drivers in Training
To qualify for the $500 hiring incentive, employees must:
- Be a new employee of Cambridge-Isanti Schools.
- Not hold a valid Class B CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements at the time of hire.
- Successfully obtain a Class B CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements through the Cambridge-Isanti Schools training program.
- Be recommended into a regular bus route driver position with Cambridge-Isanti Schools.
- Successfully complete six (6) months of continuous employment in the regular full-time bus driver position.
$500 Hiring Incentive – CDL Licensed Drivers
To qualify for the $500 hiring incentive, employees must:
- Be a new full-time bus driver with Cambridge-Isanti Schools.
- Hold a valid Class B CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements at the time of hire.
- Successfully complete six (6) months of continuous employment in the regular full-time bus driver position.
May become benefit eligible if combined with other positions.
