- Perform thorough cleaning of all designated areas, including patient rooms, hallways, offices, restrooms, and common areas using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Ensure all surfaces are sanitized according to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards to promote a safe environment for everyone.
- Handle floor care tasks such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, and carpet cleaning to maintain pristine flooring conditions.
- Restock supplies like paper towels, soap dispensers, and cleaning products to ensure continuous availability.
- Follow established protocols for sanitation and infection control within healthcare or institutional settings.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards and report them promptly.
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities and safety procedures as part of environmental services documentation.
Requirements
- Previous janitorial or custodial experience in commercial cleaning or healthcare environments is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to workplace safety and sanitation practices.
- Experience with floor care techniques including stripping, waxing, buffing, and carpet extraction.
- Strong understanding of environmental services standards for hospitals or similar facilities.
- Ability to operate cleaning machinery safely and effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks such as lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and moving equipment as needed.
