Title: Upper School Substitute Teacher
Reports to: Upper School & Middle School Principal
Work Year: 10-Month Non-Exempt, Seasonal (As Needed Basis)
The Substitute Teacher will substitute in various 7th-12th-grade classes on an as-needed basis, up to 27.5 hours per week. The substitute will implement teacher lesson plans, maintain accurate attendance records, maintain an orderly classroom, and communicate effectively with the classroom teacher and administrative assistants. The position will require flexibility, an understanding of the teenage learner, and will demonstrate tactfulness in all situations.

Position Responsibilities:

Be on time for each class subbing

Greet students warmly as they enter the classroom

Take accurate daily attendance for each class

Follow the teacher's lesson plans

Maintain a positive learning environment

Contact the MS or HS Office with any major disciplinary infractions

Input minor disciplinary infractions in FACTS with administrative guidance

Adhere to the policies and procedures as outlined in the US Parent/Student Handbook

Be a team player

Comply with the procedures as outlined in the employee handbook, teacher dress, request for time off, no social media interaction with students, sexual ethics, etc.

Attend chapel services and sit with the assigned advisory group of the teacher subbing for

Maintain a school-wide climate of high expectations, a growth mindset, and cooperation.
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
- The US Substitute Teacher must be flexible, understand that each day may have different responsibilities, possess good classroom management skills, manage calendars, have excellent critical thinking skills, and good verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree (Preferred)
- Able to work with adults and students
- A Christian who is a member of good standing in a Bible believing church
