Title: Full-Time Permanent Substitute Teacher
Reports to: Upper School & MS Principal
Work Year: 10-month
Job Description: The Full-Time Permanent Substitute Teacher will sub in various 7th-12th grade classes daily. The teacher will implement teacher lesson plans, maintain accurate attendance records, utilize the school’s learning management system, and maintain an orderly classroom. The position will require flexibility, an understanding of the teenage learner, and will demonstrate tactfulness in all situations.

• Motivate others to accept God’s gift of salvation and grow in their faith
• Follow Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, staff, and administration
• Lead others to a realization of their worth in Christ and cultivate their growth in Christ-lie character
• Subscribe to and promote the statement of faith
Position Responsibilities:
• Be on time to each class subbing
• Greet students warmly as they enter the classroom
• Take accurate daily attendance for each class in FACTS
• Follow teacher lesson plans
• Maintain a positive learning environment
• Contact the MS or HS Office with any major disciplinary infractions
• Input minor disciplinary infractions in FACTS with administrative guidance
• Adhere to the policies and procedures as outlined in the US Parent/Student Handbook
• Attend monthly US Divisional meeting
• Report to the US Office for additional duties if not in subbing in a classroom
• Attend Open Houses, Parent Night, and Graduation
• Proctor mid-term and final exams as requested by administration
• Comply with the procedures as outlined in the employee handbook; teacher dress, request for time off, no social media interaction with students, sexual ethics, etc…
• Attend required PD offerings provided by CCS
• Participate in teacher devotions once weekly
• Assist with an advisory group and assist with class events as assigned by Principals
• Attend chapel services and sit with assigned advisory group
• Attend divisional, departmental, and all pre/post planning meetings as directed by administration
• Demonstrate support for the school by attending school events and US events such as fine art events, sporting events, Baccalaureate, US academic events, and marketing/fundraising events.
• Maintain a school-wide climate of high expectations, growth mindset, and cooperation.
Qualifications:
• The Permanent Substitute Teacher must be flexible, understand each day may have different responsibilities, possess good classroom management skills, manage calendars, have excellent critical thinking skills, and good verbal and written communication skills.
• Certified in CPR and First Aid or obtain within 2 months of employment if requested
• Bachelor’s degree
• Able to work with adults and students
• A Christian who is a member of good standing in a Bible believing church
