Job Title: Houseman (General Laborer)
Location: Cambria Hotel Akron-Canton Airport Position Type: Part-Time (20–30 hours per week) Compensation: $13.00 – $15.00 per hour
Role Overview
We are seeking a reliable, hardworking Houseman to join our hospitality team. In this role, you will be the backbone of our daily operations, supporting both the housekeeping and maintenance departments to ensure our guest rooms and public spaces remain in pristine condition.
This is a physical, fast-paced position perfect for someone who enjoys staying active and takes pride in "behind-the-scenes" excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Housekeeping: Distribute fresh linens, towels, and cleaning supplies to room attendants; collect and transport soiled laundry.
- Facility Maintenance: Clear trash and recycling from hallways and common areas; perform light sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming in lobbies and corridors.
- Guest Requests: Deliver items such as irons, extra pillows, or cribs to guest rooms promptly and professionally.
- Event Setup: Assist in moving furniture or setting up meeting spaces as needed.
- Safety & Security: Report any maintenance issues (leaks, broken lights, etc.) to management immediately.
Qualifications
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for long periods, and navigate stairs.
- Reliability: Strong punctual attendance is a must.
- Attitude: A "can-do" approach and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Communication: Basic English proficiency to interact with guests and follow supervisor instructions.
- Experience: Prior experience in manual labor, janitorial work, or hospitality is a plus, but we are happy to train the right candidate.
Shift & Schedule
- Hours: 20–30 hours per week.
- Availability: Must be available for [Morning/Afternoon] shifts. Weekend and holiday availability may be required based on hotel occupancy.
