Position Overview
As a Polysomnographic Technologist, you will perform comprehensive sleep studies, provide patient education, conduct therapeutic interventions, and support the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of sleep disorders. You will work closely with physicians and healthcare professionals to ensure accurate testing, scoring, and reporting of sleep-related data.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-lab sleep studies and home sleep apnea testing (HSAT)
- Prepare patients for diagnostic and therapeutic sleep testing
- Perform PAP mask fitting, desensitization, and patient education
- Monitor, document, and evaluate sleep study data
- Score sleep stages and clinical events using professional guidelines
- Perform Multiple Sleep Latency Testing (MSLT) and Maintenance of Wakefulness Testing (MWT)
- Generate accurate sleep study reports and documentation
- Calibrate, maintain, clean, and disinfect sleep lab equipment
- Ensure compliance with infection control and quality standards
- Educate patients and families on sleep disorders and treatment plans
✔ Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of Sleep Lab experience
- Associate Degree in Polysomnographic Technology or completion of a Polysomnographic Technology Certificate Program
- Current BLS Certification (AHA)
- One of the following credentials:
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)
- Registered Sleep Technologist (RST)
- Certification through BRPT and/or ABSM
