Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to join a busy hospital laboratory team. This role involves specimen collection, patient registration support, specimen processing, and ensuring accurate handling and distribution of laboratory samples in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures for patients of all ages
- Conduct newborn heel-stick collections and capillary sampling
- Process specimens including centrifugation, aliquoting, labeling, and distribution
- Register laboratory patients and verify demographic and insurance information
- Maintain accurate patient and specimen documentation
- Answer incoming calls and assist patients, visitors, and healthcare staff
- Ensure proper specimen handling and transport procedures
- Support laboratory workflow while maintaining quality and safety standards
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Phlebotomy and/or Specimen Processing experience
- Previous hospital laboratory experience required
- Experience with newborn heel-stick collections required
- Knowledge of:
- Centrifugation
- Aliquoting
- Specimen processing
- Sample distribution to laboratory departments
Pay: $1,000.00 - $1,200.00 per week
