Location: Largo, MD 20774
Shift: Day shift, 5x8 hours (09:00 AM – 05:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 40
Job Duration: 13 weeks

Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of sterile processing experience
- Certification preferred: CBSPD
- Experience working in ambulatory surgery or central sterile environments
- Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control standards
- Familiarity with decontamination, high-level disinfection, and sterilization processes
- Experience with washer sterilizers, ultrasonic cleaners, and automated endoscope reprocessors
- Ability to assemble instrument sets using preference cards
- Experience processing flexible endoscopes and specialty surgical instruments
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- Management or lead experience preferred
- No travel experience required
Responsibilities
- Perform decontamination, cleaning, inspection, and assembly of surgical instruments and trays
- Assemble case carts and instrument sets according to preference cards
- Operate and monitor sterilization equipment including steam and low-temperature systems
- Conduct biological and chemical indicator testing and document results
- Reprocess flexible endoscopes and scopes using approved manual and automated methods
- Ensure proper wrapping, labeling, and storage of sterile items
- Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization cycles and equipment usage
- Support surgical services across multiple specialties including orthopedics, endoscopy, ENT, neurology, plastics, bariatrics, and general surgery
- Utilize Sterile Processing Microsystem workflows when applicable
- Follow all safety, quality assurance, and infection prevention guidelines
- Collaborate with perioperative teams to ensure timely instrument availability
