Responsibilities:
- Perform decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of complex surgical instrument sets.
- Process instruments for General Surgery, Robotics, Orthopedics, Total Joints, Open Heart, Vascular, Neuro/Spine, Trauma, OB/GYN, Urology, Ophthalmology, Endoscopy, Plastics, and Laparoscopic procedures.
- Reprocess flexible endoscopes including Bronchoscopes, Colonoscopes, Cystoscopes, ERCP, EGD, TEE probes, Fiber Optic scopes, and additional specialty scopes.
- Operate Getinge and Amsco steam sterilizers, Steris V-Pro, Steris System 1E, Getinge 86 Series Washers, and Triton 72 Ultrasonic Cleaners.
- Monitor biological indicators, chemical indicators, immediate-use steam sterilization (IUSS), and sterilization quality assurance processes.
- Assemble complex instrument trays, manage loaner instrumentation, implants, case carts, and preference cards.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with AAMI, AORN, HSPA, infection prevention, and hospital quality standards.
- Support operating room workflow while serving as a shift lead when assigned and mentoring department staff.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of Sterile Processing experience in an acute care hospital.
- Minimum 3 years of Sterile Processing Team Lead experience in a hospital setting.
- Previous travel Sterile Processing experience required (first-time travelers will not be considered).
- Current CBSPD or HSPA (IAHCSMM) Certification required.
- Strong experience with robotic instrumentation, orthopedic implants, total joints, cardiovascular, trauma, vascular, neuro/spine, and endoscopy instrumentation.
- Hands-on experience with Da Vinci Xi Robotic System, Getinge Autoclaves, Amsco Autoclaves, Steris V-Pro, Steris System 1E, Getinge 86 Series Washers, and Triton 72 Ultrasonic Cleaners required.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced Level I trauma and acute care surgical environment.
