    Hours: 6 hours/day
    Salary: $30.81 - $38.30

    Position: 1005023

    Purpose: Provide a safe secure campus for students, staff and the community.

    Essential Functions:
    1. Monitor the campus by assisting visitors and guests to campus, guiding them to register at the school office.
    2. Assist with the safe arrival and departure of students inside the building and outside in parking and traffic areas.
    3. Monitor hallways and common areas during class, ensuring that students are where they are supposed to be.
    4. Support and enforce campus rules for appropriate student conduct.
    5. Contribute to the general order of the entire school facility by stopping fights, resolving conflicts, problem solving, exercising careful judgment, using tact and diplomacy in dealing with students, staff, and the general public and maintain professional composure.
    6. Work with community, parents, law enforcement, emergency services, school juvenile services, school district personnel and all other agencies to maintain cooperative relations.
    7. Perform first aid in an emergency.
    8. Assist staff and students during emergency drills or real emergency situations, ensuring the evacuation of the premises or the lockdown of the campus.
    9. Work closely with the School Resource Officer as needed.
    10. Assist to monitor students during lunches, assemblies, and other activities as needed. Attendance at evening activities, dances, and graduation is expected but not required.
    11. Write up any incident reports as needed.
    12. Learn and keep up to date on all district and school rules and policies in order to assist others with compliance.
    13. Other related duties as required to ensure a safe campus and the smooth operations of the building and district.

    7. Dependability: Regular reliable attendance, follows direction, and solicits feedback.
    8. Confidentiality: Maintain employee and employer confidentiality and handle confidential matters in an ethical and professional manner.

    Professional Qualifications:
    1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
    2. Two years' experience in security, law enforcement, or education related to security or law enforcement.
    3. Training or experience related to recognizing gangs and substance use and abuse.
    4. Experience working with students, preferably at the secondary age level, and in an educational setting.
    5. Acquire and maintain first aid/CPR certification.

    Work Environment:
    The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: Generally, the job requires 10% sitting, 50% walking, and 40% standing. The job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.

    Benefits:
    School Employee Benefit Board (SEBB) Eligibility determination: All eligibility determinations are based on rules in Chapters 182-30 and 182-31 of the Washington Administrative Code (WAC). If the position is anticipated to work a minimum of 630 hours in a school year, then that position would be deemed benefit eligible. SEBB benefits include medical, vision, dental, long-term disability and life insurance. Supplemental coverages are also available.

    Retirement Eligibility determination: A certificated position participates in the Teacher Retirement System (TRS) which requires at least 5 months of 70 or more hours of compensated employment during a school year to be eligible for Washington State Retirement. A classified position participates in the School Employee Retirement System (SERS) if the position is expected to require at least 5 months of 70 hours or more for two consecutive years (initially) of employment.
