What are the responsibilities and job description for the CAEOP Transportation Secretary position at Camas School District?
- Create and maintain the district transport schedule for all eligible students to and from school using Versatrans Routing (or current program) including assignment of students to routes and maintaining map database.
- Assist with daily operations to include dispatching of drivers, route alterations, pre-trip busses as required, and transportation communication coordination.
- Ensure that substitutes are scheduled for driver absences.
- Operate a two-way radio for communication with bus drivers.
- Manage monthly payroll to include tracking and reviewing classified and substitute timecards and absence reports. Submit to Manager for review and approval. Process meal and travel reimbursements. Submit completed documents to district payroll office monthly.
- Approve, schedule and complete submitted trips in Versatrans Triptracker (or current program) to include billing and reports for reconciliation.
- Maintain fleet records, fuel, and employee files through the use of Versatrans Fleetvision and Gasboy (or current program).
- Manage Fuel Dock to include ordering all fuels and supplies, coordination of hazardous material, driver training of use and safety procedures, and inspections and reporting.
- Maintain district fleet licenses, files, and records for each vehicle in the district.
- Act as a bus driver in the absence of coverage.
- Manage and maintain a highly organized filing system. Monitor all records following required record retention schedules.
- Works closely with other department support staff to provide coverage and assistance as needed.
- Other related duties as assigned by the Transportation Manager for the successful operations of the department and the district.
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Post high school education or administrative support training preferred.
- Two years of transportation experience, preferably in an educational environment. (A combination of successful experience and education may be substituted for 2 years of experience).
- Possession of, or ability to obtain a current Washington State Class B CDL with an S' and P' endorsement and air brake restriction removed.
- Ability to use multiple forms of technology to include Versatrans, MS Office Suite, Google Suite, Skyward/Qmlativ, Frontline and InTouch.
- Ability to assist parents, staff and community with questions or information related to students and routes in a courteous and professional manner.
- Possess excellent writing and editing skills.
- Maintain current First Aid/CPR certifications as well as other district required health and safety trainings.

Salary: $33.57 - $35.82
Reports to: Transportation Manager
Status: CAEOP
Purpose: The Transportation Secretary coordinates the safe and efficient transportation between home and school, as well as other destinations within or outside the district boundaries. Works closely with drivers, school staff and parents.

If the position is anticipated to work a minimum of 630 hours in a school year, then that position would be deemed benefit eligible. Retirement Eligibility determination: A certificated position participates in the Teacher Retirement System (TRS) which requires at least 5 months of 70 or more hours of compensated employment during a school year to be eligible for Washington State Retirement.
