Position Summary
CAMACO is seeking an Engineering Controls Technician to support automated manufacturing equipment in a high-volume automotive production environment. This role focuses on troubleshooting PLC-controlled systems, robotic cells, and electrical controls to minimize downtime and improve system reliability.
The Controls Technician works closely with Maintenance, Engineering, and Production teams to ensure automation systems operate safely and efficiently.

CAMACO is seeking an Engineering Controls Technician to support automated manufacturing equipment in a high-volume automotive production environment. This role focuses on troubleshooting PLC-controlled systems, robotic cells, and electrical controls to minimize downtime and improve system reliability.
The Controls Technician works closely with Maintenance, Engineering, and Production teams to ensure automation systems operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment (Allen-Bradley preferred)
- Support robotic welding cells (Fanuc preferred)
- Diagnose electrical, sensor, and control system issues
- Assist with HMI updates and control modifications
- Support preventive maintenance and downtime reduction efforts
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and ladder logic
- Assist with new equipment installation and startup
- Maintain accurate documentation of changes and repairs
- Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2 years experience in automated manufacturing or industrial maintenance
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
- Basic PLC troubleshooting experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- 300,000 sq ft automated automotive manufacturing facility
- 160 robotic welding cells
- Stamping presses and tube mills
- Hands-on, team-oriented production environment
