Purpose
The Quality Supervisor plans and directs activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials and products. Supervisory responsibilities for a group of employees involved in inspection and quality control procedures with regard to purchased material, in-process material and finished products to assure that quality control standards are achieved.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Plan and assign work of Quality Inspectors and Technicians.
- Assist in maintaining customer satisfaction using plant quality assurance methods.
- Review product quality issues through direct communication with Quality Department Employees to ensure their knowledge of changes in procedures and standards.
- Respond immediately to quality concerns within or outside the plant addressing the defect, cause, resolution, and verification used to correct the concern (8D), including developing and posting Quality Alerts, developing and communicating break points to the customer as required.
- Provides support to AITF 16949 activities.
- Serve as a cross functional team member with tasks such as Control Plan’s, FMEA’s, 8D’s and SPC.
- Updates as necessary an 8-D / corrective action log on supplier rejections.
- Assists in maintaining the Gage room and the distribution of measuring equipment as well as calibration requirements.
- Suggests and implements changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase safety and efficiency of the department or plant.
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Maintains discipline, morale and harmonious relations among direct reports.
- Review Scrap material, disposition as necessary, develop and pursue scrap avoidance actions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience
- Associates Degree in Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience.
- 3 plus years of work experience in quality assurance.
- Experience in automotive seating.
