Position Summary
The Security & Systems Installer is responsible for installing, configuring, and servicing a wide range of low-voltage systems—including security cameras, network infrastructure, audio systems, intercoms, and access control devices. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to deliver professional, customer-focused service.
Key Responsibilities Security Camera Installations
- Install, mount, and position CCTV and IP camera systems
- Configure NVR/DVR units, remote viewing, and mobile apps
- Run and terminate Cat5e/Cat6/Coax cabling
- Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and calibration
Networking & Connectivity
- Install and configure routers, switches, access points, and network racks
- Troubleshoot IP conflicts, connectivity issues, and bandwidth problems
- Ensure proper cable management and network labeling standards
- Assist in designing and deploying small-to-medium network systems
Audio Systems
- Install speakers, amplifiers, and audio distribution systems
- Configure home audio, PA systems, or commercial sound systems
- Test audio quality and integrate systems with customer devices
Intercoms & Access Control
- Install and configure intercom stations, video intercoms, and doorbell systems
- Set up access control systems including keypads, card readers, and electric strikes
- Integrate intercom and access control with camera systems when applicable
- Perform ongoing service, maintenance, and troubleshooting
General Responsibilities
- Conduct site assessments and recommend system layouts
- Document work completed, wiring diagrams, and service reports
- Provide customers with instructions and basic system training
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a safe working environment
- Work in elevated, confined, or outdoor spaces as required
Qualifications & Skills Required
- Experience in low-voltage installation (cameras, networking, audio, or access control)
- Strong understanding of IP networking, routers, and switches
- Ability to run and terminate network and audio cabling
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift 40 lbs and work on ladders/heights
Preferred
- Experience with major brands (e.g., Hikvision, Dahua, Ubiquiti, Axis, Akuvox TP-Link)
- Experience with commercial access control systems
- Construction, electrical, or IT background
