Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Installation Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining a wide range of security, surveillance, fire alarm, and telecommunication systems across various client sites. Your expertise will ensure that all systems operate seamlessly, providing clients with reliable security solutions. Responsibilities
- Install and configure security systems including CCTV cameras, sensors, alarms, access control devices, and fire alarm systems in accordance with schematics and system design plans.
- Conduct cabling, low voltage wiring, and electrical connections using power tools and hand tools to ensure secure and compliant setups.
- Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on computer hardware, networking equipment, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and remote access software to guarantee optimal performance.
- Interpret technical schematics and wiring diagrams to accurately install complex surveillance and security infrastructure.
- Provide field service support by diagnosing issues on-site, resolving hardware or software malfunctions promptly, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their security needs; assist in alarm system sales by explaining features and benefits of various solutions.
- Maintain detailed records of installations, service calls, system configurations, and maintenance activities for accountability and future reference.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of computer networking principles and telecommunication systems to facilitate seamless integration of security solutions.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with experience using power tools, hand tools, and construction techniques for secure installations.
- Familiarity with CCTV systems, sensors (motion detectors, glass break sensors), fire alarms, low voltage wiring, schematics, and system design principles.
- Experience working as a service technician in the field with a focus on troubleshooting hardware/software issues related to security systems.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical diagrams accurately; understanding of NEC (National Electrical Code) standards is a plus.
- Knowledge of IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), surveillance technology, remote access software, and alarm system sales techniques.
- Electrical experience related to cabling, power supplies, low voltage wiring practices, and lock mechanisms; locksmithing skills are advantageous.
- Familiarity with NEC standards for electrical installations; experience in construction environments is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
