Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to lead engineering activities at an aerospace precision manufacturing company. This role combines hands-on Mastercam CNC programming with technical leadership, process improvement, and team development to ensure efficient production of complex precision-machined components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program complex CNC milling operations using Mastercam and optimize machining processes, tooling, feeds, and speeds.
- Lead engineering projects, manage three direct reports, and coordinate with Manufacturing and Quality teams.
- Design and develop fixtures, troubleshoot production and quality issues, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with customers and suppliers, support quoting activities, and ensure compliance with AS9100 quality requirements.
Key Requirements:
- 10 years of experience with advanced Mastercam CNC milling programming, including complex machining applications.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of CNC mill setup and operation, tooling, fixturing, solid models, and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership skills. Aerospace manufacturing experience is beneficial; CNC lathe programming is a plus.
