What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeper-2 position at Calvin University?
Housekeepers work in multiple areas of the hotel. The main duty of this position is cleaning of the hotel in a timely and organized manner according to hotel standards and procedures. This person will also help with the cleanliness of the common areas.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
Cleaning hotel linens and towels.
Dusting furniture and vacuuming floors.
Stock housekeeping closets and guest rooms.
Cross-train as a room attendant.
Perform aspects of hotel or conference room cleaning.
Support team to reach common goals.
Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
For those working in a lead or inspector role, additional duties include:
Provide leadership and instruction; Keep management apprised of overall operations.
Inspect work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
Record inspection results and notifies cleaning personnel of inadequacies.
Refer and provide information to higher level manager/supervisor regarding issues or concerns; and perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
The Support Services position involves working in a hotel/conference center environment. Must be able to perform physical work of operating laundry and floor cleaning equipment. Must be able to lift 25lb.
Must possess a positive, can-do attitude, be detail-oriented, and possess a well-rounded knowledge of the food service industry. Must maintain professionalism at all times, and work with others in a cooperative manner, even while working under pressure. Willing to engage actively in the physical work of a high-quality hospitality service operation
