- Job Summary:
- The Graduate Nurse (GN) is responsible for the provision of nursing care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse (RN). The GN applies the nursing process and performs delegated functions in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and CHMC policies.
- Education:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (AA, BSN, or MSN).
- Registration/Certification/Licensure:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program. After successful completion of nursing boards and receipt of licensure, GN will move to RN role.
- Experience:
- New Graduate Nurse
- Other Requirements:
- Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.
- BLS Required
- Must be in pursuit of licensure as a Registered Nurse.
- Must take NCLEX exam with 90 days of hire.
- May not continue practicing as a GN if NCLEX is failed.
