- Job Summary:
- To assess, plan implement the nursing care to meet the patients' needs, by following the appropriate policy and procedures of the assigned department.
- Education:
- Position requires an ADN or Diploma of Nursing
- BSN or MS preferred
- Registration/Certification/Licensure:
- Registered Nurse Certification; State Licensure
- Within one year of hire, incumbent must obtain specialty training, appropriate for job position and experience, by completing either Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy administration or ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy certification if does not already hold an Active ONS provider card/certification. It is required to maintain ONS provider card/certification by renewal every two years.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years as oncology nurse or related experience
- Other Requirements:
- Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.
- Must have a current cancer specific certification by an accredited certification program or ongoing education by earning 12 Cancer related continuing education nursing contact hours each year for a total of 36 CEU's per accreditation cycle (3 years).
