Job Overview: To assist Calvary Preschool in day-to-day operations
Job Category: Full-time or part-time, hourly, preschool summer staff
This person would report to: Preschool Director- Ashley Holmgren
Preferred Qualifications
- Qualified as an Assistant Teacher according to Department of Human Services of Minnesota
- Be CPR/AED and Pediatric First Aid certified or willing to be obtained within 30 days of employment
Expectations
- Have the ability to share God’s story with children, and participate in Vacation Bible School
- Comply with Minnesota Department of Human Services Rule 3 and other statutes
- Submit to and pass a background check through the Minnesota Department of Human Services
- Ensure the safety and well-being of each child by responding to their emotional, social, and physical needs in addition to their faith development and educational needs
- Maintain necessary confidentiality at all times
- Maintain training hours as required by the Minnesota Department of Human Services
- Be able to kneel, bend, squat, and sit on the floor to meet children’s needs
Responsibilities and Duties
- Communicate with families and staff in a professional manner
- Engage children in indoor and outdoor activities and play that stimulates their development
- Help maintain an environment that is clean, organized, and safe for all children
- Attend preschool staff meetings and staff development as scheduled by the director
- Maintain a professional self-image and project the mission and vision of Calvary Lutheran Preschool and Calvary Lutheran church at all times
- Have an enthusiastic, welcoming attitude and have fun with kids!
