Job Description And Duties
This position is pending Department of Finance approval
Under the general direction of the District 3 Office Chief of Mobility Programs, a Supervising Transportation Engineer, the Senior Transportation Electrical Engineer (Supervisor) serves as the District Signal Operations and Traffic Census Branch Chief while supervising a team of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) practitioners in the operations of State traffic signals as well as the collection, processing, and submittal of traffic census data. Employee supervises and directs the work of Transportation Electrical Engineers, Transportation Civil Engineers, and Transportation Engineering Technicians in developing and reviewing transportation projects related to traffic signals and census. Additional duties include serving as one of the district's SHOPP 315 program advisors, leading the implementation of advanced technology related to traffic signals and census, and serving on the District 3 Electrical Board and other statewide committees.
Eligibility for h ire may be determined by your score on the Senior Transportation Electrical Engineer (Supervisor) Exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.
