Key Responsibilities
Management & Leadership
- Directly supervise all providers assigned to the practice.
- Conduct bi-annual provider evaluations and annual competency assessments.
- Lead monthly provider meetings and participate in site management meetings.
- Monitor provider productivity, quality metrics, regulatory compliance, and open encounter completion.
- Oversee clinical performance of trainees and research programs as applicable.
- Collaborate with nursing, social work, and administrative leadership on staffing, performance issues, and quality/safety initiatives.
- Communicate site needs to regional medical directors and attend required regional and CDG meetings.
- Maintain an active clinical schedule and deliver high-quality, evidence-based patient care.
- Demonstrate strong medical knowledge, sound clinical judgment, and effective consultation practices.
- Provide compassionate care, maintain accurate medical records, and ensure availability to patients and staff.
- Foster respectful, culturally sensitive relationships with patients and care teams.
- Uphold ethical practice, complete CME requirements, respond promptly to patient messages, and comply with organizational policies.
- Use health system resources appropriately and advocate for high-quality care.
- Participate in quality initiatives, apply evidence-based medicine, and support continuous quality improvement efforts.
- Precept residents, medical students, and trainees; participate in residency faculty activities as needed.
- MD/DO with completion of accredited medical school and residency.
- NY State medical license; board eligible/board certified.
- Current BCLS and DEA.
- Strong clinical, supervisory, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems; prior supervisory experience preferred.
