Position Summary
The Lead Finished Carpenter is responsible for performing high-quality finish carpentry work while leading jobsite execution on residential kitchen and bathroom remodeling projects. This role combines hands-on craftsmanship with field leadership, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards.
Skills & Responsibilities
- Lead daily jobsite activities and coordinate work sequencing with other trades
- Take full ownership of assigned projects from start to finish carpentry through final completion
- Be accountable for the quality, pace, organization, and final presentation of the jobsite
- Drive projects forward and anticipate sequencing or installation challenges before they become issues
- Install finish carpentry components, including cabinets, vanities, trim, molding, doors, and hardware
- Scribe and fit cabinetry and trim to walls, floors, and tile surfaces for a clean, finished appearance
- Frame and finish non-structural elements such as soffits, bulkheads, and access panels
- Coordinate finish work around tile, stone, glass, and plumbing fixtures without damaging completed surfaces
- Read and interpret drawings, scopes of work, and installation specifications
- Lead by example in professionalism, craftsmanship, safety, and respect for the client’s home
- Communicate clearly and proactively with homeowners, project managers, and team members
- Identify solutions in the field and communicate next steps, not just problems
- Ensure punch-list completion and final detail work reflect company standards without requiring constant oversight
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites in occupied homes
Qualifications
- 5 years of residential finish carpentry experience (kitchen and bath preferred)
- Prior experience leading or mentoring other carpenters or apprentices
- Strong knowledge of finish carpentry tools, materials, and techniques
- Ability to manage time, sequencing, and jobsite workflow
- close attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. Company truck provided
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical job duties throughout the day
Physical & Work Environment
- Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and climbing
- Work performed in residential environments, including being alone on job sites
- Regular use of hand and power tools; exposure to dust and noise
