Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Veterinary Technician role based in the Greater Boston area. The Veterinary Technician will support veterinarians in providing medical care, including assisting with examinations, treatments, and diagnostic procedures. Day-to-day responsibilities include handling and restraining animals safely, collecting samples, administering medications as directed, monitoring patients before, during, and after procedures, and maintaining accurate medical records. The role also involves preparing and cleaning exam rooms, maintaining equipment and treatment areas, ensuring a clean and safe environment, and providing compassionate care to pets throughout their visit. The Veterinary Technician will engage with clients to explain home care instructions, answer basic questions about pet health, and support a positive, respectful client experience.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in Animal Care and Pet Care, including safe handling, monitoring behavior, and providing compassionate, low-stress care.
- Proficiency in Veterinary Technology, such as assisting with exams, diagnostics, treatments, radiology, and recordkeeping.
- Experience or training in Anesthesiology support, including patient preparation, monitoring vital signs, and post-anesthesia care under veterinary supervision.
- Ability to provide clear Client Education on home care, preventive health, medication administration, and follow-up instructions.
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT) or eligibility for certification/licensure preferred; relevant on-the-job experience considered.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Comfort with basic computer use and veterinary practice software; willingness to learn clinic-specific systems.
- Availability for a full-time schedule, which may include some evenings or weekends depending on hospital needs.
Pay: $19.00 - $26.00 per hour
