Responsibilities
- Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescription, lifestyle, and personal preferences, ensuring optimal fit and comfort
- Take precise measurements of pupillary distance, frame size, and other vital signs necessary for accurate lens fitting
- Maintain detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Revolution EHR or similar platforms, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and health regulation policies
- Support laboratory processes by verifying lens orders, managing inventory, and ensuring quality standards are met in optical fabrication
- Provide excellent retail sales service by educating patients on lens options, frame styles, and current promotions while utilizing POS systems for transactions
- Uphold aseptic techniques during equipment handling and ensure clinic cleanliness to meet health regulation standards
Requirements
- Prior retail optometry experience or retail management experience preferred; familiarity with retail math is a plus
- Knowledge of ophthalmology principles, anatomy of the eye, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to vision care
- Experience with EMR systems such as Revolution EHR or similar platforms; understanding of medical billing and coding processes is advantageous
- Strong understanding of state healthcare regulations, HIPAA compliance, and clinical confidentiality policies
- Familiarity with optical experience, laboratory procedures, and laboratory experience is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex concepts clearly to patients of all ages, including pediatrics and seniors
