General Description
Manages administrative workflow in and between Executive Staff and CTA Governance bodies. Coordinates administrative and logistical staff support for Executive Staff, CTA Officers, and Governance bodies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinates workflow, independent and integrated, emanating from and received by CTA Executive Staff, Officers, and Governance bodies.
- Coordinates staff support for CTA Executive Staff, Officers and Governance bodies.
- Coordinates administrative and logistical preparation, conduct and follow-up activities of the CTA Board of Directors meetings.
- Coordinates administrative and logistical preparation, conduct and follow-up of CTA State Council of Education meetings.
- Coordinates administrative and logistical preparation, content, and follow-up of CTA’s participation in NEA’s Representative Assembly.
- Acts as consultant to Representation Committee and Election and Credentials Committee of the CTA State Council of Education.
- Coordinates State Council Elections for all CTA Multiples at-large positions and NEA RA state delegates.
- Acts as consultant to the Governance Logistics Committee of the Board of Directors.
- Coordinates member appointments by the CTA President to provide CTA representation at state and local agencies.
- Develops, maintains and updates State Council New Member Orientation Handbook, State Council New Committee Chairperson’s Handbook, and CTA Elections Manual.
- Administer the CTA Organizational Handbook including understanding and implementation of bylaws and standing rules.
- Exhibit professional, skillful, and responsive communication with members when delivering organizational decisions.
- Participates in the planning of CTA’s strategic activities under the direction of the Executive Director.
- Coordinates staff support for CTA/NEA-Retired and Management.
- Trains and supervises department staff in the effective conduct of their work.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage administrative work performed by others.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate multiple work projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, plan and achieve short and long-term organizational goals.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively operate in an active political environment.
- Effective knowledge of CTA Governance processes and structure.
- Proficiency in the use of computer technology and the ability to learn and use the Association's software programs.
- Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid California driver's license.
