What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Patio Furniture Sales Rancho Mirage/La Quinta position at California Patio?
Location: Rancho Mirage, CA (one of two retail locations Rancho Mirage or La Quinta)
Compensation: Based on Experience. There is a base pay plus commission.
We are seeking a seasoned Sales Professional with furniture retail experience.
You will represent our premium outdoor furniture brands in one or potentially both of our San Diego locations
Your Responsibilities
- Guide customers through the buying process using an educational, consultative approach.
- Once their selection has been narrowed down, ask for the sale.
- If the sale is not achieved on the first visit put in your notes why the client did not buy and then the follow up process begins.
- Execute consistent, timely follow-up with customers via phone, email and in person.
- Maintain organized customer notes and follow-up schedules to convert leads into sales.
- Educate customers on product features, materials, construction, warranties, care and lead times.
- Develop and maintain expert-level product knowledge on all products we carry.
- Accurately process transactions using POS systems.
- Support showroom presentation, merchandising, a clean showroom appearance.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure products are properly stocked and presented.
Follow-Up is Required
- You are expected to track all communications, next steps, and timelines, also documenting all communications of your follow up in your notes until the customer reaches a decision.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills; professional, knowledgeable, and approachable.
- Highly disciplined follow-up habits and strong organizational skills.
- Self-motivated and accountable
- Ability to quickly learn product details and explain them clearly to customers.
- Ability to multitask and work independently in a showroom environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
- Strong overall computer literacy.
Additional Information
This position includes a probationary period of 120 days to ensure a strong mutual fit. During that period you will be paid a base pay.
