Job Summary

Job Summary

California Heritage YouthBuild Academy is a growing, mission-driven public charter high school in Redding serving students through a WASC-accredited high school diploma pathway and a GED pathway, career technical education, workforce development, and individualized support. As CHYBA expands its programs, facilities, and multi-site operations, it is strengthening its central administrative capacity. CHYBA is seeking a highly organized, experienced, and proactive Confidential Executive Assistant to provide high-level support to the Executive Director/Interim Executive Director and central administrative staff. The position supports executive and administrative workflow, correspondence, calendars, confidential records, HR and Board functions, website and public postings, and organizational follow-through. This is a 12-month position. Full-time employment is preferred, although approximately 0.80–1.0 FTE may be considered. Some scheduling flexibility may be available during July with prior approval, provided essential administrative responsibilities and deadlines remain covered. Position open until filled. Applications received by July 27, 2026, will receive first consideration. CHYBA may review applications and begin scheduling interviews as applications are received.

Requirements / Qualifications

CHYBA is committed to identifying a highly qualified candidate and encourages interested applicants to apply promptly. Applications will be reviewed as received. Unofficial transcripts and available professional letters are acceptable for initial review, and applicants should not delay submitting an otherwise complete application while waiting for newly requested documents. If a transcript or recommendation letter is pending, upload a brief note identifying the item and its expected availability. All requested materials, reference checks, and required employment verifications must be completed before final selection and appointment.

  • Answers to Supplemental Questions (Please upload responses to all CHYBA supplemental questions.Use specific examples and clearly describe your own responsibilities rather than the work of the overall team.)
  • Copy of Transcript (Unofficial transcripts are acceptable. Submit documentation of relevant education or coursework in business, office or HR administration, public, school or nonprofit administration, communications, or a related field. Relevant training or certifications may be submitted in lieu of a transcript.)
  • Driver's License Copy (Valid California driver’s license required due to travel between CHYBA locations.)
  • Letter of Introduction (Describe your interest and relevant experience in executive support, confidential administration, HR, governance, professional document preparation, organization, and follow-through.)
  • Letter(s) of Recommendation (Minimum of two professional letters of recommendation, preferably from current or recent supervisors familiar with the applicant’s executive or administrative work. Letters dated within the past five years are preferred and should include the writer’s telephone number and email address.)
  • Resume (Current résumé describing relevant education and experience.)
