Job Description And Duties
The Department of State Hospitals-Napa, Personnel Office is recruiting to fill a permanent, full-time Senior Personnel Specialist vacancy. Applicants will serve as the expert staff resource responsible for the most difficult and complex personnel and payroll issues. Functions as the lead to Personnel Specialists and assists in the monitoring and review of workload to ensure transactions are completed timely and accurately. Must demonstrate the ability to apply the State laws, departmental and control agency rules and regulations, and collective bargaining agreement provisions pertaining to a variety of personnel transactions in the areas of personnel record keeping, certification, payroll, and personnel documents processing and related personnel transactions functions. A Senior Personnel Specialist advises on benefits and processes personnel documentation into the computer. Important characteristics include punctuality, good attendance, positive attitude and effective verbal and written communication skills. They must also have the ability to work independently and to interpret and use job-related reference material. Computer skills are also desirable.
Per CalHR the Senior Personnel Specialist position is eligible for an annual payment up to $4,800, payable upon meeting the designated criteria as stated in Pay Differential 240 .
