Job Description And Duties
Metropolitan State Hospital is located in the City of Norwalk.
Positions are Intermittent, NOT Full-time . Intermittent positions are "less than Full-time" and working hours may not exceed 1500 hours per calendar year. Interviews will NOT be conducted for this recruitment. Conditional Job Offers will be made to candidates who meet the minimum qualifications and have satisfactory references. Candidates must have a current and active CNA License with no Disciplinary Actions.
Permanent/Intermittent positions exist within the hospital's Registry/Central Staffing Office. Incumbents provide a basic level of general and psychiatric nursing care to mentally ill and emotionally disturbed patients; demonstrate and exercise skills in identification and response to crisis management; report significant changes in behavior or health status to appropriate staff; and observe safety and security measures and assist in security functions. Candidates must have excellent organizational skills, ability to problem solve, and good communication skills.
Candidates must be willing to work in any Unit/Program and any Shift to meet the needs of the facility.
TRAINING EXPECTATIONS: If selected, it is mandatory that you attend New Employee Orientation (NEO) in its entirety. NEO can be scheduled up to 30 days for level of care staff (clinical).
