The Department of State Hospitals-Metropolitan is currently accepting applications for Marriage and Family Therapist, Permanent/Fulltime. Working Title : Marriage and Family Therapist.
Working under the general direction of the Department of Social Work Services, the Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) provides mental health treatment for individuals experiencing mental and emotional disorders. In this role, the MFT delivers both individual and group therapy, addressing the needs of patients with chronic illness, challenging behaviors, addictions, and other specialized mental health concerns. This position requires collaboration with interdisciplinary treatment teams in an inpatient forensic psychiatric setting.
REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must possess a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited university.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 1 year of professional experience as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in a mental health setting. Applicants who possess active LMFT licensure with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) are highly desired.
