Job Description And Duties
The Analyst functions under the general direction and oversight of the Fire Chief or designee, with technical guidance and day-to-day work direction provided by assigned Fire Department supervisory staff. The position supports Fire Chief oversight of regulatory compliance, inspection readiness, reporting accuracy, inter-agency coordination, Public Records Act compliance, vendor coordination, contract administration support, timekeeping, and scheduling related to fire protection, life safety, and emergency medical services programs.
This is the full journey-level analyst class. Incumbents function as subject-matter generalists with demonstrated analytical capability, administrative expertise, and professional judgment applicable to complex governmental and regulatory environments, including fire protection, life safety, emergency medical services, emergency management, and healthcare compliance programs.
Position requires the ability to learn and maintain proficiency in general/specialized office software; Utilize office and operational equipment, including photocopiers, testing equipment, and data terminals, to retrieve, enter, and manage information; Accurately interpret and apply numerical, alphabetical, and alphanumeric data required to perform essential job functions and maintain regulatory and compliance accuracy; analyze applicable regulatory requirements and prepares audits, summaries, or reports identifying potential compliance deficiencies or risk areas. Requires the knowledge of principles, practices, and trends of public administration; records management and disclosure laws; vendor and contract documentation practices; timekeeping and scheduling controls; regulatory, accreditation, and inspection frameworks applicable to fire protection, life safety, emergency medical services, and healthcare environments.
Employee must report to work on time, maintain a professional appearance, interact professionally with staff, patients, and the public, and comply with hospital policies. May work varied schedules, overtime, and multiple locations. Annual health reviews are required to ensure fitness for duty.
