Job Description And Duties CDSS is seeking a strong research manager to lead the Department’s work in transforming data into insights as the Team Lead of the Dashboard and Data Integration Section within the Insights Bureau. This team is part of the Research and Data Insights Branch, CDSS’s research and data team, within the CDSS Research Automation and Data Division (RADD).

This job is for you if you:

  • Are deeply passionate about transforming human services administrative program and policy data (e.g., programs like food assistance, cash aid, child welfare, and child care) into actionable insights that can better tell the CDSS story
  • Have experience leading teams of coders and policy researchers as they weave together administrative data, research, and the experiences of those we serve to pull out data insights that drive policy
  • Are familiar with statistical analysis software and/or coding languages like SAS, R, Python, or SQL and dashboarding software like Tableau, Power BI, or other, high-code dashboarding approaches like building dashboards in R and Python
  • Want to help transform outdated and manual processes into automated, responsive ones through CDSS’s cloud-platform data warehouse (known as the Enterprise Data Pipeline)
  • Are passionate about data storytelling, including data visualizations, policy briefs, and other resources that help democratize access to insights from administrative data
  • Are passionate about the use of administrative data to reduce administrative burdens and improve access to crucial safety net programs
  • Are energized by the idea of improving social and human service delivery with data

Training and Development assignments may be considered based on the availability of eligible candidates and are subject to approval by the Hiring Authority prior to the appointment. Training and Development assignments are temporary in nature and shall not exceed twenty-four (24) months.
