Job Description And Duties
This is the first supervisory level in UEBTF (Uninsured Employers Benefits Trust Fund). Under general direction of a Workers' Compensation Manager, plans, organizes, and directs the work of subordinate staff in a major geographical area; provides training, evaluates performance, and recommends appropriate action; assists the staff with unusual or difficult cases; personally handles the more difficult, complex, or sensitive cases, audits, and program evaluations; confers with the unit manager to assure uniform application and interpretation of program policies and procedures; confers with local Workers' Compensation Appeals Board; Referees on integration of the work of ancillary and Judicial staff; discusses medical treatment, disability, and insurance matters with physicians, attorneys, employees, and employers as needed; attends meetings and conferences to give advice and information on workers' compensation programs and policies; and does other related work.

Working Conditions
The position is located at: 1515 Clay Street, Oakland, CA 94612.
The duties of this job are performed indoors most of the time. The employee works in the Oakland UEBTF Office. The employee's cubicle is equipped with standard office equipment. Attend meetings in designated rooms and be willing to travel for off-site meeting/trainings, work in a team environment and independently.
Special Requirements
A STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS (SOQ) is required.
The SOQ must be in 12 pt. Arial Font, no more than 2 pages.
