Job Description And Duties
The mission of the California Labor Commissioner's Office is to ensure a just day's pay in every workplace in the State and to promote economic justice through robust enforcement of labor laws. By combating wage theft, protecting workers from retaliation, and educating the public, we put earned wages into workers' pockets and help level the playing field for law-abiding employers. This office is also known as the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE).

As a national leader in the Wage Claim Adjudication process, the Labor Commissioner's Office enforces the law by setting a standard of fair and expeditious resolution of claims to achieve long-term compliance from the employers of the State of California. By providing education and meaningful enforcement of wage and hour laws, we combat wage theft and ensure that wages earned are put into the pockets of the workers.
We are looking for passionate and driven team members who seek to make a difference in the lives of workers and employers through education and enforcement of employment laws. This position is in our Wage Claims Adjudication Unit.
Under the direction of the Deputy Labor Commissioner Regional Manager (DLC Regional Manager/Regional Manager) in the Wage Claim Adjudication (WCA) unit, the Deputy Labor Commissioner Supervisor (DLC Supervisor/Senior Deputy) is responsible for supervising, planning, organizing, and reviewing the work of team members as well as offering ongoing training and education. In addition, the DLC Supervisor collaborates with other programs and stakeholders to promote education and access for the public and bring forth labor law enforcement awareness.
