Under the supervision of the Supervisor I of the Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), in the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), the Analyst I serves as a personnel and recruitment liaison providing general analytical support to DOSH programs as it relates to the personnel and hiring needs of the division statewide. The incumbent provides consultation of recruitment and hiring activities performed, researches, analyzes, and applies personnel policies, rules, and regulations in support of DOSH’s personnel transactions to ensure compliance of all transactions and works closely with DOSH management and the DIR Human Resources unit (DIR HR). Additionally, the Analyst I routinely tracks and updates the status of the division's statewide vacancy rates, new hires, separated staff, and hiring packages.

Work Conditions: The incumbent works in a high-rise building with natural and artificial light and temperature controls and occupies a cubicle workspace. The incumbent is required to work extensively on the computer as necessary for email communication, accessing software platforms, drafting documents, data entry and other purposes.
The building is in downtown Oakland, approximately two blocks from the 12th Street Oakland City Center BART station and three blocks from Hwy 980. The Oakland City Center area has many inexpensive places to explore for lunch. On Fridays, there is a farmers' market within walking distance. There is a day care center in the building (whether there are current openings is unknown; those interested would need to inquire). There is a secure bike parking area in the building garage. There is a parking garage in the building for a daily fee. Monthly parking is available but subject to availability.
Special Requirements
Completed applications and all required documents must be received or postmarked by the Final Filing Date in order to be considered.
