Job Description And Duties
HCAI’s mission is to expand equitable access to quality, affordable health care for all Californians through resilient facilities, actionable information, and the health workforce each community needs.
Under the general direction of the Director and Assistant Director, the incumbent provides strategic direction and leadership for the Office of Health Information. The Deputy Director provides high-level policy design and oversight for the Department’s data programs and healthcare analytics and ensures compliance with statutory program requirements. The Deputy Director participates in directorate-level strategic planning to evaluate and recommend policy and program direction, ensure compliance with legislated program mandates, and manages staff in the development of policies for data programs and healthcare analytics. Ensures that the handling and processing of data are in compliance with all state mandates and policies. The work of this office is critical and impacts the state’s health systems, programs, and stakeholders. The Deputy Director serves as liaison to private and public sector health industry stakeholders, the California Health and Human Services Agency (CalHHS), the Governor’s Office, the Legislature, and other federal, state, and local agencies. The Deputy Director participates in department strategic planning as a member of the Executive Management Team.
