At California Chemical, we are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Custodian / Maintenance to support the upkeep, safety, and functionality of our warehouse facility. This role focuses primarily on warehouse maintenance, including routine repairs, preventative maintenance, and ensuring the facility and equipment remain in proper working condition, job includes custodial duties as well.
Duties
- Perform general warehouse maintenance, including minor repairs to doors, racks, floors, lighting, and equipment, painting, plumbing, (e.g., painting, basic fixes).
- Support custodial tasks, including cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, breakrooms, office spaces, refrigerators, and microwaves.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in warehouse and office areas (warehouse equipment such as sweepers and scrubbers provided).
- Maintain warehouse sidewalks free of weeds and trash.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse work areas, docks, and storage zones.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
- Assist with preventative maintenance of warehouse systems and equipment.
- Operate basic hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Perform company truck maintenance as needed.
- Coordinate with supervisors to report and address maintenance issues promptly
- Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies in good condition.
- Follow all company policies, as well as safety and sanitation procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to support efficient facility operations.
Requirements
- Previous experience in warehouse maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a similar role preferred
- Working knowledge of basic maintenance tasks (electrical, plumbing, carpentry a plus)
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Physical ability to lift, bend, stand, and perform manual labor in a warehouse environment
- Strong attention to safety and detail
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Previous custodial experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
- Comfortable working in both warehouse and office environments
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
