The Production Control Manager is responsible for day‑to‑day tactical production control planning, scheduling, and monitoring of material flow throughout the production process. The role ensures alignment with delivery dates, output quality, production volume, cost objectives, and overall resource optimization. This position oversees scheduling activities, develops methods to effectively allocate materials and implements monitoring tools to identify waste, inefficiencies, and inventory issues within production operations. The manager collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop effective planning methodologies and best practices.
This role is part of succession planning to support continuity and long-term operational effectiveness.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the day‑to‑day tactical planning, scheduling, and material flow to meet delivery, quality, volume, and cost objectives.
- Oversee production scheduling and develop methods to allocate and control resources and materials effectively.
- Establish and maintain monitoring tools and processes to identify waste, inefficiencies, and inventory risks within production operations.
- Recommend improvements to production technology, processes, and planning methods.
- Monitor production performance to ensure goals and objectives are met.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and optimize planning methodologies and best practices.
- Ensure department and project milestones and goals are achieved within approved budgets.
- Apply extensive knowledge of production control functions, systems, and department processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3 years of experience in a related production, planning, or operations role as an individual contributor.
- Extensive knowledge of production control functions, scheduling methodologies, and departmental processes.
- Demonstrated ability lead teams effectively.
- Strong understanding of production operations, resource allocation, and inventory management.
- Ability to identify and address process inefficiencies and production issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross‑functional and external partners.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in metals, machining, forging, or similar heavy manufacturing.
- Familiarity with OEE or production reporting metrics.
- Power BI or reporting/analytics exposure.
- Associate degree or relevant technical coursework.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequent walking and standing on the production floor.
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
